  3. Nov 05,  · The ICP Orchestra is easily, hands down, far out our most far flung band this side of the Milky Way. Because they are the rulers of controlled freedom, wanted spontaneity, instant composing. They flow easily, leisurely flow over ripples, boulders are met headlong, spirits high.
  4. Bennie Moten's Kansas City Orchestra was the most sucessful Jazz band of the Midwest. The band toured all over the country and had a top selling recording in for Victor named "South". In Count Basie of The Blue Devils joined the band, and several other members of that band soon joined Moten's Orchestra.
  5. The ICP Orchestra was in town Saturday thru Monday, although prior commitments meant I could only get along to the opening concert of their tour of the United States on Saturday night (May 2) at Constellation. I've heard them live a few times now and have come to expect it to be an excellent night of music - they did not disappoint.
  6. The Holland-based Instant Composers Pool (ICP) Orchestra has amassed 51 albums since its inception in and due to health-related issues, legendary co-founder, pianist Misha Mengelberg is unable to perform. But guest artist, pianist Guus Janseen duly integrates his artistry into the orchestra's distinct constitution.
